This ode to Shuteen’s homeland features the remarkable Dalaijargal Daansuren on Mongolia’s national instrument, the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle). Erdenebaatar’s piano offers a gentle ostinato beneath its heart-rending melody, while Kugelmann’s contra-alto clarinet wraps around it with soulful warmth.
